Preparing for your engagement shoot is almost as important as preparing for your wedding day. However, it doesn't have to be a daunting task. Over the years we have gathered a few tips which should help your shoot run smoothly and most importantly be FUN!
Tip 1: What's your style
Take a look on Pinterest or simply google different couple photos. There is nothing wrong in getting ideas from others to help or develop the look that you are aiming for. Also take some time to think about what you and your partner like, your personal styles, shared activities, personalities, hobbies, professions. This is all great information that we will use to develop the storyboard for your engagement shoot.
Tip 2: Set aside time for you
Set aside time before the shoot to prepare your look. Whether it's hair and/or makeup - you want to ensure that you look your best. However, take care to not overdo it on the makeup ladies. You will want to look like you - your fabulous self - not an overly contoured face that no one recognizes :-).
Tip 3: What to wear?
Depending on the storyboard that we create - you will definitely want to plan to bring two outfits each with a backup or two. You never know what to expect and we would hate for a coffee stain to ruin the shoot.
Coordination is great. However if you have writing on your shirts that are irrelevant to you as a couple I would avoid it.
Tip 4: Bring props
Do you both enjoy bike riding, playing cards. We will build that into the shoot - so please bring them.
Tip 5: Have fun!
Remember this is your special time with you and your partner. This is not a high fashion modeling shoot (unless you want it to be one) so let's just have fun!!
